Ed Tech Day 2013 - Tuesday August 20th

This is the 10th Anniversary of Ed Tech Day. We started with about 7 volunteers helping one site back in 2003. Now we are up to over 100 volunteers and we will help 15-20 sites per year.

We have come a long ways in 10 years. No one ever thought that first year that a group of us helping one school would ever grow into a non-profit foundation servicing 1000's of WNY kids.

Many of these sites depend on us to provide their IT services for the entire year on this one day. I am always truly amazed every year how this all comes together thanks to all our volunteers. Last year I had the opportunity to drive between sites observing the hard work that was happening at each site. These volunteers work so hard for at least 8 hrs straight and get done what would normally take 6 months or more to complete in the business world. They are so determined to get everything done the site could possibly need. Many will go back on other days to finish up a project or just continue to help the site out. True dedication.

As we celebrate our 10th Anniversary we are also launching a new logo and brand. On Tuesday you will see our new logo showcased on our volunteer tshirts. In the Fall we will rebranding our web site and marketing materials. So much has changed in 10 yrs and its time to showcase that.

Thank you to this year's sponsors - Working Knowledge, Sunn King, Greatbatch, National Fuel, RLComputing, Teracai, Evans Bank, and Doug Torre.
